I have valued being part of a like minded organisation the most. Learning and growing.
I feel education is one of the most important things that SC do. Self Compassion and Compassion to others is how we make the world a better place.
I have valued being part of a community that supports spiritual and personal growth and exploration and shares values. Having a peer group that shares a language with me has been invaluable. It has felt like a spiritual family at times.
I see it as the SC’s greatest service to offer educational outreach into the mainstream to open this kind of network/community to more and more people. It’s almost like a (broad) church without religion.
I most value the empowerment and confidence that my SC training and connection gives me to practise spirituality in my own unique and wonderful way, and to support others to do the same.
I see our greatest service to be the creation of SBNR communities in our local areas, to ripple out our SC way of looking at life (the Universe and everything) around the world.
I value being part of a network/community that prompts and supports my ongoing reflection on the integration of spirituality into my everyday life and work. I have also valued having a qualification- it has been helpful in applying for work, giving credibility to my skills and abilities.
I see ongoing education, mainstreaming spirituality, as central to the work of the SC Trust and I’m glad we’ve developed the register. I’d also love for us to lead further developments -research, professionalism, hosting conferences etc
I love being a part of an established organisation that represents a sector of society that is otherwise unrepresented in Spiritual and faith traditions.
I see the SCT continuing to strengthen its Presence as THE go to organisation for people through continuing to educate and be a meaningful voice that consciously grows the hearts and minds of spiritual non-denominational members of society.
I have valued being a part of an organisation that represent spirituality in general in an inclusive way. Also having the qualification gives credibility to the practitioner and reassurance to the service user.
I see SCT as an educational organisation striving to educate the public about the importance of spirituality, especially for those who prefer to identify as spiritual but not religious, i think it’s a good starting point.
I valued the challenge of the SC programme and the sense of community that SC’s have. I love being connected to people with diverse spiritual practices who can meet each other with respect and kindness.
I would like to see SCT looking more at community building and peer support to enable people to be present in their own communities/networks with resilience, compassion and self awareness.
I have valued the connection with like minded souls, I’ve loved being able to talk freely about my beliefs, but above all I value my daily practice which nourishes and sustains me to this day and has seen me through some tough times with more grace and love than I would otherwise have had.
SC’s main service and activity in the world is educating, fostering and nurturing (though community) those who wish to be a benevolent prescence to those in spiritual turmoil. I would like to see the community grow, I would like to see more support for the community as it grows. I would like to see SCs venture further into mainstream healthcare.
I have most valued the opportunity to connect with others as an element of the Thursday Healing Meditation.
I see SC’s main service activity in today’s is to further enable individuals to recognise that it is possible for them to be Spiritual outwith religion and to educate and bring those individuals together into loving community.
I have valued being part of something bigger than me and the feeling of ‘validation’ I had when hearing other people’s experiences. I felt relieved to finally being able to talk freely about certain aspects of my own spiritual experiences.
Because of my own experience, I think SC’s main service activity in today’s world is to allow people (especially young people) to find a community where they can further explore their own spiritual experiences.
Being part of a network / community committed to supporting spiritual growth, exploration and practice and exchanging experience and ideas.
Education, support, advocacy, awareness raising for individuals and communities wanting to explore spirituality in a person -centred context.
I really like the connection to like minded people that SCT provides. The variety of people and ages is just so nice and for someone still relatively new to accepting my spirituality and path, its nice to be surrounded by people I can relate to and be inspired by. I’ve recently really enjoyed the talks hosted on zoom/youtube as well and I like the email reminders that pop in on a monthly basis.
I think the main service the SCT can provide is really highlighting to people that they don’t need to follow this fad or do exactly what someone else tells them to do but to explore what brings them joy, what connects them to life and love and energy, etc. I find that SCT really unites people of different faiths, beliefs, practices because it is rooted in finding that connection for yourself. I feel like it allows people to follow that spark and hone it, nourish it and appreciate those small everyday moments and use them to connect. It provides a gateway to people who might be put off by hearing they need to meditate for an hour every day or need to do a sound bath etc. I think it gives a language to allow people to have different views and experiences too – that feels like it is missing in other places. Particularly with social media, it feeds off highlighting people’s differences and playing on that. But SCT can provide a space to unite us through a common experience of connection or whatever word we want to use there.
I am not sure where to start…. I have benefited so much from being part of this lovely heart centred organisation. I use my learning from the SC my daily life as personal practice. I also use my learning as part of my professional role as a trainer, supporting organisations in bedding in values of compassion and kindnesses their core service to vulnerable adults. i know I am a better mother, friend, neighbour and person since I got involved in the SC Trust. I feel connected and supported by good companions. Thank you all.
I believe the work we do at the SCT has many unseen benefits for our society. Education and sharing by doing.
I’ve valued being part of a diverse and growing network of spiritually mature (or spiritually maturing) people who are independently minded, self aware and can appropriately support each other and members of the public in their spiritual development. I’ve valued the robustness of the Diploma qualification and the establishment of the UKRSC. I count as a blessing the many wonderful friends and connections I’ve made through this community.
The main service that we offer:
– access to supported, person-centre spiritual development based on love and compassion not religious dogma.
– access to a network of spiritually and psychologically literate peers
– a regulated qualification which enables the individual to offer service to others as a spiritual companion
– a public register and well-governed educational charity which enables people to find support for their own spiritual development and incarnational reassurance in challenging and confusing times.
What I value most about the SC programme is being in a community of souls that have explored spirituality in broadly the same way, and by doing so have developed a common of understanding of the many ways in which we all connect with mystery. Diversity is genuinely celebrated, and it is uplifting. I also love the grounded vocabulary, which makes it far easier to talk with other people, and the quality of materials, thinking, and structure of the formal qualification.
I see the main service of SC as education in the area of spiritual connection, and a place/space where people can fully explore their spirituality with other people. As living appears to get more onerous and challenging for so many people, SC also offers an environment whereby a sense of the meaning of living can be talked about, and maybe even discovered. Finally, there is a real vale in simply promoting a regular meditation/connection practice, as a way to open hearts and allow love to take root.
I value being part of a community that supports people in developing their own approach to spirituality and self-development and gives them the education and tools to do so and the skills to help others.
I see our greatest service to be helping people to explore things beyond the physical nature of existence and empowering them to connect with their Higher Nature which can act in in love, will and wisdom.
A sense of belonging and community, where all are welcome who value the challenges and joys of embracing their own spirituality and developing compassion towards others.
Friendship with others who are committed to actively working with these values and offering support and opportunities for compassionate self-reflection.
Being part of the adventure of helping others to feel part of a wider spiritual community where they can feel they belong.
SCT provides community and support, as well as clear guidance and accessible resources for those drawn to explore their own spiritual journey.
It offers an educational pathway to develop the understanding and personal skills needed to ‘companion’ others. Providing this within a nationally recognised training offers a qualification and endorsement for those wishing to use these skills within their workplace, such as in social care, healthcare, education and otherwise.
UKRSC offers the potential for greater recognition and inclusivity and a growing of the values of SCT.
1. What I’ve valued most is the feeling of community with like minded people, and the encouragement to have a more balanced and embodied lifestyle.
2. SCT offers people the opportunity to have an increased awareness of spiritual well being and connection to self, nature and the wonder of existence. It offers a sense of calm and inner confidence. The diploma allows graduates to take these skills into the workplace and their everyday lives by companioning others.
For me the biggest benefit of the SC diploma course was being able to integrate different areas of learning into a cohesive whole, centred around an inclusive, loving, unconditional strong spiritual base. This gave me personal and professional confidence to own my spiritual existence and experiences and a base from which to continue learning and sharing.
As an organisation, I see it as place where people can come to have this experience which is not offered anywhere else, a place of learning and teaching that is unique and precious.
What I have most valued about my connection with SC is the support and friendship I have received from my follow SC Educators and the connections with the Diploma Tutees I have worked with.
I see the Diploma as SCs main service activity in the world. Something that is offered nowhere else.
1. What I have valued the most with my connection with SC is the connection with those who are spiritually mature and emotionally congruent, and a deep peace that comes from understanding my own spiritual journey, and my daily spiritual practice. It has given me a stable foundation upon which to more fully grow, develop, and explore my personal spiritual path. It has also given me tools to best support others on their own pathway, and, in particular, provided me with a deeper awareness of how I interact with others, whether family, animals, the natural world, or other people.
2. I see SC’s main service activity as holding space for those who find religion challenging, and providing them with tools to better understand their unique spiritual path. I also hope to see more SCs in chaplaincy, the NHS, the government, and education. Many could do with heart-centred presences at their core, and I believe SC can help foster this at all levels.
Discovery of like minded individuals and being part of a sense of community.
Being clear on what we provide and why…bringing purpose to a confusing and troubled world.
Most Value – Being part of something with beautiful values and people doing their best to live them. Connection with like hearted and like minded community of people – feels like coming home when meeting the majority of SC’s; feel like I can be me, just as I am; love the in-person gatherings when they happen and when I can get to them – almost regardless of the content. Marinading with other SC’s is a lovely thing.
Main Service Currently – our range of trainings and workshops (those delivered by other trainers as well as the ones from Wm) – both those with the formal qualification and those which are CPD / not formal qualifications; opportunity for people to connect directly with William; newsletter (in its latest and more consistent incarnation).
Future Services I’d Love to See – more trainings and workshops from other trainers / facilitators / educators under the SC banner as well as from Wm – especially the more esoteric (not just the stuff that’s more palatable to the main stream stuff).
I feel that there have been some really good changes in what SC is presenting with the dialogues and the e-magazine over the past year. I also notice that the website stats are good and increasing perhaps with this additional activity. I value William’s guiding light. I value the fact that there is an SC trust but I am aware that I do not engage at the moment with the Trust as much as I would like. I totally value the wonderful training I had when studying for the diploma, fellow students, the educators.
Although I am short of time at the moment, I wonder about a mentoring scheme which is easy to engage with. I also feel the urge to expand the spiritual conversation and make it more available / everyday for people. We are not psychology, we are not religions, but we are a spiritual conversation and that is a wonderful gift. I am trying to do that through leading pilgrimage.
I value the education I have benefitted from: it has been rich and deep over the years, challenging me into compassionate embodiment, and to return to that place. I enjoy sharing that learning and being able to hold that space for others.
I value the spiritual community it offers.
One of the major purposes of SCT is education, including offering on-going mentorship and/or reflective spaces, open to dialogue, exploration and experience. Exploring spirituality should become widely accepted as a normal human impulse, encouraged and supported, normalised into the mainstream, sensitively and inclusively.
